3/13/20 Virus Update

Dear Providence family & friends,

As the impact of the coronavirus continues to cascade through our nation and local communities, I (and your elders) wanted to make sure we are communicating in a way that is helpful & timely.

Here are some current steps we are taking, as well as some important reminders:

    * We have put together a Virus Response Team (Becca Lacock, Steve Lacock, Bill Miles, Diane Henderson, Richard Brewer, Jon Waltenbaugh, and me) to coordinate our plans as a church, as well as the communication of those plans. Our first meeting is early tomorrow morning, and we will be in contact with you (via email, and posts on FaceBook and our webpage) with any additional news & updates.

    * As a reminder, PLEASE do not come to worship on Sunday (or any church events) if you are (or family members) are ill.

    * For those who choose to stay home on Sunday morning, here is the link to our church's live stream ... https://www.providence-pca.org/live

    * We will be having worship & Sunday School this coming Sunday morning at their normal times!

    * If you have a particular need or concern during this time, do not hesitate to contact your shepherding elder, or one of the deacons. And, if you know of someone else in the church that has a concern or need, kindly relay that to us as well.

Shannon & I were reading Psalm 91 together last evening. What good reminder of the Lord as our Refuge and Fortress ...

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
    and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his pinions,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

Psalm 91. 1-6

Praying for us all as we abide in the shadow of our great God, and bear witness to the One in whom we trust!
