Due to the weather forecast for this Sunday, January 20, Sunday School is cancelled. Our Worship Service will remain at 10:30 a.m.
Our mission is to teach and preach the Scriptures for a greater
understanding and love for our God and the church of Jesus Christ. As a
church we are a covenantal and gospel driven community that worships God
in spirit, in truth and with growing joy. The fruit of our teaching and
worship is to see lives changed and to engage our surrounding
communities, our nation and the world by the power of the Holy Spirit,
the Father's love, and the hope of Jesus Christ.
The whole truth of God's Word is the foundation of our teaching, preaching and ministry. We shall teach our community how to study the Bible and apply its truth and promises in their lives with a special emphasis on the covenant and gospel themes of Scripture.
At the heart of Providence is our personal faith in Christ's redemption accomplished on the cross and applied by the Holy Spirit's on-going work. With a Reformed understanding of salvation based on God's sovereign grace, we seek to encourage hearts and lives to serve Christ and be a gospel transforming community. The result is that God's love, grace and mercy unite us in the promises fulfilled in Jesus Christ. This is our witness before the watching world.
Our desire is for the people of Providence to understand the priority of personal, family, and corporate worship. Our worship is to glorify God in spirit and truth by being prayerful and joyous in style with a faith and hope strengthened by the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ.
With dependence on the power of the Holy Spirit, we desire to regularly see conversions and make disciples so lives are changed through the work of the gospel. We seek to be a people of God who are prayerful and humbly becoming more like Christ.
We seek to engage our local communities, and support ministries in the nation and world with gospel ministry that advances Christ's Kingdom through faithful prayer and witness of His salvation.
